Due to a programming error in the personalization program, the algorithm does not operate as it was intended to . One of the checksum functions makes use of the product name which is stored in the ‘Lic ‘ #510 resource of the personalization program, the author uses his own template to modify this resource and edit the program name and seed value (not used at this time), this template misinterprets the product name, read as pascal string, causing the length byte to be located at the wrong offset. The product length is then assigned the value of zero and is not used in the calculation as it should. Now, I believe the author will soon notice this glitch and fix it in the next build, however, my plugin anticipates this fix and can operate in 2 modes: if the ‘Fix Registration Bug’ checkbox is selected, the algorithm will make use of the product name as it should, else it’ll ignore the incorrect string manipulation and operate in ‘bug aware’ mode, thereby generating SNs whose calculation discards the product name.
